Basic Glass

Basic Glass

Our BasisGlas ranges from laminated to single-pane safety glass, from float glass to curved glass and can be used in a variety of ways. The range of BasisGlas also provides the basis for all other RaumGlas products.

FloatGlas

Float glass is manufactured using the flow process (liquid glass is applied to a tin strip). Of all types of glass, float glass is the standard glass for furniture glass or mirrors.
The float glass has a slight green tint.

WhiteGlass

Special raw materials with low iron oxide are used to produce the particularly clear float glass. This not only results in very high light transmission but also, especially in the case of thick glasses, a relatively color-neutral transparency, especially in comparison to normal float glass.

Toughened safety glass (ESG)

ESG (tempered safety glass) is a float or cast glass that has increased resistance to temperature changes, impact and shock resistance and bending strength. If a pane breaks, the entire pane breaks into a network of fragments (see fracture pattern), which are mostly blunt-edged and loosely connected to one another. Due to its special properties, the possible applications of ESG are inexhaustible: all-glass doors, railing infills, facade panels, viewing windows and much more.
Note: Spontaneous breakage of ESG

Laminated safety glass (VSG)

VSG (laminated safety glass) consists of at least two panes of glass that are connected to one another using one or more highly tear-resistant films such as PVB (polyvinyl butyral). If the glass is damaged, the glass parts are stabilized by the films. The dimensions of the glass and the thickness of the film depend on the intended use. The films can be installed in clear, matt white and/or colored. Due to its special properties, VSG can be used in the areas of safety, fire protection or traffic safety glass.

SentryGlas®

Using the SentryGlas® ionoplast film as an intermediate layer creates a high-performance laminated safety glass (LSG). It is characterized by a particularly high level of resistance, even under difficult conditions. This highly resilient LSG also enables thinner and lighter glazing both indoors and outdoors. The SentryGlas® ionoplast film is 5 times more tear-resistant and 100 times more rigid than conventional PVB film. This means that the application range extends to fall-proof glazing, from floors and balustrades to extensive overhead glazing.

Satinato® / Satina®

The full-surface etching gives the glass a milky and cloudy appearance. Satin glass is characterized by a low transparency for effective privacy protection. Fine surface etchingFloat glass or white glass
Tip: Frosted glass creates privacy while still letting in plenty of light.

Spiegel

Mirrors are an indispensable part of interior design and are an ideal solution for kitchen back walls, bathrooms and/or sliding doors and partition walls. There are a variety of types of mirrors: Duplo mirrors: with mirroring on both sides, e.g. for mirror cabinetsSpy mirrors: only visible under certain conditionsSatin mirrors: with a finely etched and polished surfaceColored mirrors: silver coating on colored float, sometimes with a matt surfaceAntique mirrors: reflection like antique mirrorsAntique mirrors: hand-made antique mirrors, sometimes in colored base tonesAll types of mirrors can be cut to size at GLASKÖCHLIN on request. Edge processing and other surface and edge processing are also possible in a variety of ways. A wide variety of fastening options, from various invisible techniques to aluminum rails and decorative fittings, make your mirror an individual piece.
You can also get magnetic fasteners, mirror adhesives and mirror heaters from us - here.

Scratch-resistant glass

Anti-scratch glass is very resistant to stains and scratches and has the property of being non-slip. Due to its resistance, it can be used both indoors and outdoors, e.g. on facades, roofs, shelves in the kitchen or bathroom, work surfaces or floors.
Did you know? We can also print your desired motif on scratch-resistant glass! See here.

Antibacterial glass

Antibacterial glass is particularly suitable for rooms with high hygiene requirements. Due to the antibacterial effect of the silver ions contained in the glass, 99.9% of the bacteria adhering to the glass are killed. The proliferation of fungi is also prevented. The range of antibacterial glasses includes both clear and painted glasses and mirrors. The area of application of antibacterial glass extends from kitchen fittings and bathrooms to counters and wall cladding in doctor's offices.

CurvedGlass

Curved glass offers maximum flexibility in the implementation of architectural ideas. It is available as ESG, VSG, TVG, float or insulating glass.
A very special glass!

Fireproof glass

The fireproof glass is an example of Maxime. It is particularly characterized by its variety in size and shape. The possible bending of up to 270° gives fireplace owners maximum visibility of the fire and enables almost limitless design options. The special properties of the material also allow it to be used outdoors. Sudden rain, snow and flying balls cannot harm even the heated pane.

Spark protection glass

A spark protection plate is an important accessory for a fireplace. It is not only a beautiful base, but also serves as a safety feature. High temperatures are generated in the fireplace, which can cause damage to a wooden floor, for example. Another danger is flying sparks. For this reason, it is important to ensure that there is sufficient safety distance from flammable materials. A base plate for the fireplace protects the surface directly under and around the fireplace.

ConductiveGlass

Do you need a conductive, transparent product? Then our conductive glass is the answer. This glass, which is ITO or pyrolytically coated on one side, is suitable as a cover panel for demanding use in data display devices and screens. Conductive glass is available from 3 mm glass thickness, also as single-pane safety glass, with ceramic or organic screen printing. All types of glass can be supplied with contacting on request.
